CHICAGO (CBS) – An arctic air mass is trapped in our region and holds a northwest wind current in place.

According to CBS-2 meteorologist Mary Kay Kleist, that high pressure ridge will drift across the sky tonight, easing the wind current.

On Tuesday this ridge moves into the Ohio Valley. This position will create a gusty south wind current. In the next few days it will be dry and uneventful. We will monitor the snow chances at the end of the working week.
