Jeni’s scoops up free ice cream during grand opening Thursday in Naperville

In case you missed it, Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream has just opened in downtown Naperville. To mark the occasion, Jeni’s is holding a big opening party on Thursday, November 18th, from 7-11pm, where free ice cream will be handed out. The first 50 people in line will also receive extra goodies. Jeni also recently introduced new holiday flavors like white chocolate peppermint and cognac & gingerbread. There are also two new collections, priced at $ 68 each, available to order online or by pint / scoop in local stores. The Splendid Holiday Collection includes White Chocolate Peppermint, Cognac & Gingerbread, Mexican Hot Chocolate, Sugar Plum and Brown Butter Almond Brittle, while the Grand Holiday Collection includes White Chocolate Peppermint, Cognac & Gingerbread, Mexican Hot Chocolate, Pistachio Macaron, Gooey Butter Cake and Salted Peanut Butter.

It is also available to take away. Reservations are required. Or pre-order a full 4-6 person Thanksgiving carry kit for $ 175. It includes roast turkey, side dishes, bread, and pumpkin pie. Pick-up is on Wednesday, November 24th, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and on Thanksgiving before 11:00 a.m.

Bourbon dinner

If you’re a bourbon fan, Thorn Restaurant in Rosemont has partnered with the Few Spirits distillery for a special four-course bourbon dinner that starts at 7pm on Friday, November 19th. Nosh about special combinations from Chef Nicholas Malloy, including sauteed prawns paired with Few Straight Rye Whiskey, Gochujang Roast Chicken paired with Few Straight Bourbon, braised short rib paired with 10th Anniversary Four Grain Straight Bourbon Whiskey, and bourbon-poached pear paired with American Straight Whiskey. Tickets are $ 110 per person; Reservations are required.

Goodbye

After 21 years in Oak Brook, Mon Ami Gabi will be saying goodbye to this place on Wednesday, November 24th. So there are only a few days left to enjoy French bistro dishes there.
