Illinois City Named 5th Most Festive in US For the Holidays, Beating A Town Called Santa Claus – NBC Chicago

You know a city is ready for a vacation when it beats a city named Santa Claus on the list of the most festive vacation cities in the United States

Naperville was honored by Sixt.com of ranked fifth on the list which aimed to answer, “What are the best vacation spots near me this year?”

“Christmas in Naperville is pulsating with authenticity”, says Naperville’s entry, “there is no artificial snow here!”

The publication recognizes the Chicago suburbs Christkindlmarket and the Rotary Club’s Holiday Parade of Lights, along with other attractions such as the All Seasons Ice Rink, for helping set the tone for the Naperville holiday mood.

“Hold your loved one’s hand as you slide through the season on the All Seasons Ice Rink and then witness the brilliance of the Rotary Club’s Christmas Parade,” the entry said. “Chicago is just a short drive away. So for a more multicultural holiday celebration, rent a car and attend the city’s many Diwali, Chinese New Year, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Ramadan, St. Lucia Day, and Visakha Puja Day celebrations.”

Santa Claus, Indiana is named “Funniest Nickname” list, ranking sixth behind Naperville.

“The city’s Santa Claus Christmas parade, the Santa Claus house, the Santa Claus arts and crafts show and the Santa Claus Christmas shop should infect even the Grinchen with the Christmas spirit,” says the publication.
