Greenfield and Hill defeat the Vikings in a running back and offensive line themed check the tape of a record-breaking offensive performance.
North Central’s running backs and offensive line started with 591 rushing yards on Senior Day and the team’s Conference championship win against the North Park Vikings.
The first game was a hasty touchdown for Terrence Hill, overshadowed by guards Sam Pryor and Michael Hasenstab, who moved left and plate two defenders into the end zone.
“We love to pull our guards off,” said head coach Jeff Thorne. “It’s every lineman’s dream to finish and land on a defender.”
Next up was a 47-yard touchdown run by Ethan Greenfield, which apparently shifted gear after beating the defense.
“Ethan’s special,” said Thorne. “For me, the jump cut is the most impressive part of this run and that’s what he’s shown here throughout his career. Ethan’s repertoire, which he’s developed over the years … he’s always been able to break tackles, but now it’s on a whole different level. “
Ultimately, Terrence Hill showed sheer strength and determination when pulling a bunch of Viking defenders with him.
“It’s good to see him drop his shoulders and run so hard,” said Thorne. “He’s such a good running back and would start for any other team in our conference and probably just be a conference player.”
