DuPage County endorses plan to move Ribfest from Naperville, IL to Wheaton fairgrounds in summer 2022 after COVID 19 cancellations

DUPAGE COUNTY, Ill. (WLS) – A longtime summer festival has begun looking for a new home.

Ribfest is an award-winning festival of nationally recognized ribbers featuring delicious BBQ ribs, pulled pork, BBQ chicken and delicious sauces.

Ribfest was held in Naperville for decades, but a Dupage County Board committee has approved a plan to move Ribfest to the County Fairgrounds in Wheaton, the Daily Herald reported.

According to the proposal, the festival would take place over Father’s Day weekend. The festival traditionally takes place on the weekend of Independence Day.

The event was scheduled to take place in Romeoville for the last two summers but was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
