Blackhawks’ offense still missing as Chicago takes show to Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE — The biggest question on paper about the Blackhawks entering this season was who would score their goals.

Sure, Patrick Kane was returning, but they removed nearly every other offensive threat on the team — Alex DeBrincat, Dominik Kubalik, Dylan Strome — and replaced them with players who had once scored. Max Domi had 28 goals during the 2018-19 seasons, but he has scored 37 goals total in the three seasons since. Andreas Athanasiou scored 30 goals in the 2018-19 season, but he’s had 32 goals since. Jonathan Toews and Tyler Johnson would fall in a similar category.

So far this preseason, the Blackhawks still haven’t answered that question. Through four games, they have five goals, and four of those goals were scored in one game.
