3 People Injured When Car Slams Into Freightliner Truck On Route 59 In Naperville – CBS Chicago

NAPERVILLE, Ill. (CBS) – Three people were hospitalized in Naperville on Tuesday afternoon following an accident involving a car and a Freightliner truck on Route 59.

One of the accident victims suffered life-threatening injuries.

At 1:08 p.m., the Naperville Police and Fire Department were called on Route 59 on Platinum Avenue about the crash involving a silver Dodge Charger driven by a 42-year-old Chicago man and a white 2015 Freightliner , that of a 42-year-old man from Chicago.

Police said the Charger was traveling south on Route 59 when it crossed the median and crashed into the Freightliner truck.

The driver of the Dodge Charger was admitted to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries, while a passenger of the Charger and the driver of the Freightliner were each taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the police said.

Following the crash, Route 59 northbound between North Aurora and Brookdale roads was closed for investigation. The road remained closed at the start of the rush on Tuesday afternoon.
