Is Chicago Fire renewed for season 11? (What Chicago Fire canceled?)

Chicago Fire has come to an end for another season. As we enter the summer months, we’re more curious about whether there will be more to the story. Is Chicago Fire season 11 going to happen?

The end of Chicago Fire seasons tends to bring us major cliffhangers. Usually, we see a few lives on the line in burning buildings. The season 10 finale was a little more subdued. It was focused on the big wedding event of the season.

However, there was a small cliffhanger. As Severide and Kidd enjoyed their quiet honeymoon, a car threateningly rolled up to outside the place they were staying. This is clearly connected to the drug bust Severide helped with, and now we’re worried about the two Firehouse 51 lieutenants.

Will we find out what’s happened to them? We need Chicago Fire season 11 to answer that question. Will the season happen, or was the series canceled by NBC?

Chicago Fire season 11 is happening at NBC

There is some great news. We will get more of the story. While there wasn’t an official renewal this year, there didn’t need to be. NBC had renewed the series for three seasons back in February 2020. Season 11 is the last of the three seasons, so we’ll be keeping an eye out for renewals in the 2022–2023 season.

We also have a rough idea as to when the season is going to return. Chicago Fire will remain as part of the fall schedule. It will remain on Wednesdays sandwiched between Med and PD. All three shows were renewed for three seasons back in 2020.

NBC hasn’t announced definite premiere dates just yet. We’re expecting the date announcement to be in June or July this year. However, we can look at when previous seasons premiered to get an idea. Look out for this show in the last week of September, with Wednesday, Sept 28 as a loose return date.
