I 57 Accident, Road Conditions: Car Accident on Expressway in Cook County kills 1 today, Illinois State Police
COOK COUNTY, Illinois (WLS) – One person is dead after an accident involving two vehicles on I-57 early Saturday morning, the Illinois State Police said.

The crash occurred near 159th Street in Cook County around 4:40 a.m. on Saturday, preliminary information showed.
Another person was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
At around 5:00 a.m. on Saturday, I-57 northbound on 167th Street was closed for investigation, police said. All lanes have remained closed and are expected to remain closed for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
The police did not provide any details about the incident.
