Carol Brown, age 89, a longtime resident of Plainfield, IL, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2022 in Naperville, IL. She was born on April 14, 1933 in New Haven, CT.
Carol is survived by her loving children, Vickie (Bruce) Marshall of Plainfield, Betsy (John) Lewis of Middleburg, FL, Kerry Brown of Longview, WA, Chris (Sandy) Bianchi of Plainfield, Mark (Wendy) Brown of Georgetown, KY ; her cherished grandchildren, Julie (Kevin) Clairmont, Lori (Greg) Coons, AJ (Hope) Lewis, Christopher (Samantha) Lewis, Jason (Danessa) Brown, Lindsay (Bobby) Bailey, Mallory (Nick) Sinitzki, Natalie Brown, Amanda (Dominic) Russo, Cody Brown; her many adored great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and goodfriends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Brown; her parents, Kenneth and Josephine Smith; and her sisters, Joan Trippand Margaret Smith.
Carol was born in Connecticut and spent her formative years living in Maine, New York, Poland, Italy and Switzerland. She graduated from Colby College in Waterville, Maine and earned her bachelor’s degree in English. She worked for Plainfield National Bank, 1970-1993, and was the first internal auditor for the bank. A longtime member of the Lockport Women of the Moose, she served in many positions on the board, including Senior Regent. She was a volunteer at St. Joseph Medical Center for many years and knit countless new-born baby caps. Carol loved to travel and visited 49 states, only missing Hawaii. She also enjoyed reading and was never without a good book. Carol will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
