William Vincent Reid, age 62 of Naperville, IL and formerly of North Bellmore, NY passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at Edward Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born September 21, 1959 in Rockville Centre, NY to John and Doris Reid. Cherished husband of Dr. Teresa Gorno-Reid for over 31 years. Adored father of Evangeline Anne, Alice Cecilia, and Grace Beatrice Reid to whom he was known as “Papa”. Youngest brother of John “Jack” (Dorothy) Reid of St. Augustine, FL, Marialice (Robert) Krauss of St. James, NY, and the late Franklin Reid. Admired uncle of Christopher, Gregory (Renee), and Julianne Krauss, Jennifer (Ernest) Tuthill, and Michael Reid. Dear cousin of Kevin Reid and Susan Reid Muncy. Also preceded in death by his beloved Aunt Beatrice and his namesake Great Uncle Billy. William attended St. Barnabas grade school in Bellmore, NY and graduated from Mepham High School in 1977, where he was Student Body President. He received a BBA from Michigan State University in 1981. He was a proud member of the Alpha Kappa Psi Business Fraternity. William found his niche in the Chicago office furniture industry. He spent 34 years helping companies move and redesign their spaces, beginning at Corporate Business Systems and later Affordable Office Interiors. He was grateful for his loyal clients and talented colleagues. He was a devoted father, never missing a school program or dress rehearsal. He organized and emceed the Lip Sync Contest at Ss. Peter & Paul School for over a decade and was recognized at Benet Academy for his volunteerism with the Dad’s Club Service Award. He was a Fourth Degree of the Knights of Columbus, a supporter of the Tootsie Roll Drive, blood drive, and parish Santa Breakfast. William loved the ocean and had a gift for photography. He was a proud Irishman known for his humor, wonderful storytelling, and beautiful baritone. We will miss him dearly.
