Ruth Grandt Obituary (1931 – 2022) – Naperville, IL

Ruth Grandt, nee Pusateri, age 90 of Naperville, IL formerly of Alma, WI and born in Chicago. She passed away peacefully, Thursday, June 23, 2022 at St. Patrick’s Residence of Naperville. She was born July 24, 1931 to her loving late parents, Ben and Angela Pusateri.
Cherished wife of the late J. Fred Grandt, Sr., married for 49 years.
Beloved mother of Angela Stachowiak, J. Frederick Grandt, Jr. and Roxanne (David) Stec.
Adored Nana of Angela Marie (Vito) Napolitano, David (Kerrin) Stachowiak, Jr., Ben (Kayla) Stachowiak, Rocco (Ceci Komp) Stachowiak, Anthony Stec and Spensir Stec.
Great-Nana of Vitoantonio, Luca, Stella, and Easton. She is also survived by many cousins ​​and friends.
Ruth graduated from DePaul University. She and her husband Fred owned and operated Forklift businesses and later Ruth worked in the insurance industry. Ruth was a lifelong volunteer. While living in Melrose Park, Ruth and her mom Angela volunteered at Gottlieb Hospital, with Ruth eventually serving as President of the Women’s Auxiliary.
While enjoying retirement in Naperville, Ruth volunteered at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Edward Hospital gift shop and St. Patrick’s Residence, where she came to live under the care of the devoted staff and Carmelite Sisters.
Ruth loved to read! Over the years, she also enjoyed her many beloved family dogs and “grand-dogs.” She always looked forward to her visits with the therapy dogs who came to see her while volunteering at Edward Hospital and as a resident of St. Patrick’s Residence.
Ruth learned to love fishing, bowling and the Chicago White Sox from her dad, and later became a devoted and frustrated Chicago Bears fan. She’s known for her love of Minions characters and enjoyed decorating her room with collectibles, blankets, stuffed animals.

Memorial Visitation: Thursday, July 14th 9:30-10:30 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 1500 Brookdale Road, Naperville, IL 60563. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:30 AM at Church. Interment is private. Future information at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Hillside, IL.
