Residents can apply for Cook County Rental Assistance until October 29th

First, check whether you are authorized.

Applicants must meet all four of these qualifications:

  1. Be a tenant or landlord in suburban Cook County.
  2. Prove that you have experienced pandemic-related financial challenges.
  3. You will have to pay rent, utilities, or other home-related expenses now or in the future.
  4. The household income is at or below a threshold value for the district. For example, households of one person must earn up to $ 52,200 annually to qualify, and households of two people must earn up to $ 59,650 annually to qualify. Next, put together your required documents.

To apply for help, you will need to provide identification, a list of the people in your household, and the monthly income of your household. You’ll also need to provide proof of a pandemic-related financial emergency and provide your landlord’s name and email address. When applying for electricity subsidy, you should also submit your final electricity bill.
