Petition packets are circulating for 2023 Consolidated Election on April 4

Naperville Park District Board of Commissioners

Naperville Park District Mission: We provide recreation and park experiences that promote healthy lives, healthy minds and a healthy community.

Three 4-year seats on the 7-member Naperville Park District Board of Commissioners are to be filled by hopefuls running for election on April 4, 2023.

Packages may be picked up from 9AM-4PM Monday through Friday at the Park District Administration Building at 320 W Jackson Ave. at the desk of Bridget Tuft, Executive Administrative Assistant/Local Election Official.

Individuals who wish to run for a seat on the board must be at least 18 years of age and a Naperville Park District resident for at least one year prior to the election. The filing period is Dec. 12-19, 2022.

Naperville School District 203 Board of Education

Mission statements: Our mission is to educate students to be self-directed learners, collaborative workers, complex thinkers, quality producers, and community contributors.

Three 4-year seats on the School District 203 Board of Education are to be filled by voters on April 4, 2023.

Petitions are now available for signatures. The filing period is Dec. 12-19, 2022.

Indian Prairie School District 204 Board of Education

Mission statements: The mission of Indian Prairie Community Unit School District 204 is to inspire all students to achieve their greatest potential.

Three 4-year seats on the School District 204 Board of Education are to be filled by voters on April 4, 2023.

Petitions are now available for signatures. The filing period is Dec. 12-19, 2022.

Local elections matter most…

Be prepared to vote where it matters most – locally.

Again, municipal elections in Naperville are nonpartisan. That means candidates do not run with partisan (party) labels. Candidates are independent and not chosen by a party to serve. Nonpartisan elections are held for municipal, park district and school boards that serve constituents in Naperville.

A few campaign notes: If more than 16 candidates file for any of the four available seats on the Naperville City Council by Dec. 21, 2022, a Primary would be held in February 2023. Also, taking out a petition packet does not necessarily mean it will be returned by that packet-picker-upper. Registered voters may sign more than one petition for City Council candidates if they live in the City of Naperville. Also, residents who live in unincorporated Naperville may not vote for City Council members.
