Illinois Supreme Court Justice David K. Overstreet will be installed June 3 as 1st Vice President of the Illinois Judges Association during the group’s annual meeting.
The Illinois Judges Association represents 1,250 active and retired Illinois state court judges.
Overstreet has been a judge for 15 years and was a practicing attorney for 16 years before becoming a judge. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Jefferson County Bar Association. Overstreet is a youth camp counselor at the Little Egypt Christian Youth Camp, assists Boy Scout Troop 103, is a board member of Lifeboat Alliance, is a deacon at the Mt. Vernon Church of Christ, and is a member of the Mt. Vernon Rotary Club.
Overstreet currently serves on the Illinois Judicial Conference and is the Supreme Court Liaison to the Supreme Court Commission on Access to Justice, the Supreme Court Committee on Character and Fitness, and the Supreme Court E-Business Policy Advisory Board.
The Illinois Judges Association will also install other new officers for 2022-23 at the meeting: President Justice Eileen O’Neill Burke, 1st Appellate District; 2nd Vice President Judge Mary Colleen Roberts, Cook County; 3rd Vice President Judge Elizabeth Rochford, Lake County; Secretary Judge Patrice Ball Reed, Cook County; and Treasurer Judge Julie Katz, St Clair County.
