NAPERVILLE, IL — Naperville residents are invited to a July 21 open house to discuss upcoming improvements involved in the next phase of improvements to North Aurora Road.
The initiative, which launched in 2006, aims to lessen congestion, improve traffic safety and increase access for pedestrians and bicyclists. This upcoming phase will involve repairing a 110-year-old railroad bridge and expanding the width of North Aurora Road between Frontenac Road and Pennsbury Lane.
The first phase of North Aurora Road improvements is underway and expected to wrap up in late 2022. The second phase, which will be covered in the open house, will accept bidding in Nov. 2022 and is expected to last through late 2024.
At the July 21 meeting, city officials will answer questions about designs and a preliminary schedule of anticipated road construction. Residents are welcome to come and go to the open house at their leisure, as there will be no formal agenda.
