Julia Snydacker Obituary (1938 – 2022) – Libertyville, IL

Julia Ingram Snydacker passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2022. She was born in 1938 in Oak Park, IL and was a resident of Grayslake, IL and had previously lived in Kennett Square, PA; North Andover, MA; Evanston, IL and Chicago, IL.
She is survived by two daughters, Anne Snydacker Shivak (Alan J.) and Rebecca Snydacker Antonoglu (John); 3 grandchildren, Nicholas Antonoglu, Julia Antonoglu and James Shivak; and many loving family and friends.
Before retiring in 2004, Julie had worked as an administrative assistant for BPG Real Estate Services in Wilmington, DE and in the Alumni Relations Department of Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. She previously taught fifth grade in Park Ridge, IL.
Growing up in Glen Ellyn, IL and attending Glenbard West High School, her family moved to Winter Park, FL in 1955. She graduated from Winter Park HS in 1956 and then attended Florida State University, where she was a member and past president of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1960.
She was married to James Underhill Snydacker for 45 years and he passed away in 2009. Their family lived in Tokyo, Japan for three years and traveled throughout the Far East.
Julie was active at the First Presbyterian Church in Libertyville, IL, where she served on the Deacon Board and coordinated the church’s soup kitchen program. She also served on numerous committees at the church, was a member of PEO, and belonged to a local book club. She had previously been president of The Near North Juniors of The Infant Welfare Society of Chicago; and in Evanston Illinois she was a Girl Scout leader and active in the North End Mother’s Club as well as the Evanston Women’s Club.
Visitation will begin at 1 pm until time of service at 2 pm on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at the First Presbyterian Church, 219 Maple Ave. Libertyville. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are by the Burnett-Dane Funeral Home in Libertyville.
