Home invaders get $9,000 cash

A home invasion in the 800 block of Brummel Street resulted in a loss of $9,000 in cash. This among stories in Friday’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

HOME INVASION
800 bumble
When burglars enter a home that is already occupied, police officially refer to it as a home invasion. One occurred at 8:22 pm Monday, when three persons, known to the occupants of the home, at the 800 block of Brummel Street, implied that they had a weapon and got away with clothes and $9,000 in cash.

BURGLARY
1300 maples
A screen was removed from a residence at the 1300 block of Maple Avenue, but the offenders did not make it into the home, so nothing was taken.

OTHER
1454 Elmwood
Chauncy D. Bryant-Redmond, 27, of 1213 Darrow Ave., was arrested at Evanston police headquarters at 11:28 am Wednesday and charged with child endangerment.

SHOT’S HEARD
Lake at Hartrey
Gunshots were reported at Lake Street and Hartrey Avenue at 6:05 am Thursday. Police checked the area but found nothing.

THEFT
900 Dempsters
A package that had been delivered to a home in the 900 block of Dempster Street was taken between 1:30 pm Wednesday and 1:11 pm Thursday.

1600 Dodges
A bicycle secured to a bike rack at the 1600 block of Dodge Avenue was stolen between 8 am and 3:45 pm Monday.

Incidents listed are among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
