Highland Park police charge 3 for DUI – Chicago Tribune

The following items were taken from Highland Park police department and Lake County court clerk reports, news releases and records. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.

DUI

Angel Castrejon, 19, of the 200 block of the 200 block of Sheridan Road in Highwood, was charged with leaving the scene of a vehicle-damage accident and driving under the influence of alcohol Jan 9. Police responded to a single-vehicle crash at the 2300 block of St. Johns Avenue where the vehicle left the road and went into a ravine. When found, Castrejon was arrested on both counts. He was released on bond and is scheduled to appear in Lake County Court Feb. 24 in Waukegan.

Orlando Arroyo, Jr., 26, of the 2200 block of Hervey Avenue in North Chicago, was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, driving under the influence of drugs or a combination of drugs , unlawful use of cannabis by a driver, speeding and improper lane usage Jan 6. Police stopped him near the intersection of Kennedy Drive and Skokie Valley road and determined he was under the influence. He was transported to Lake County jail for a bond hearing. He is next scheduled to appear in Lake County Court Jan. 24 in Waukegan.

Calvin S. Burns, 29, of the 2300 block of Lydia Avenged in Zion, was charged with resisting arrest by a peace officer and criminal trespass to property Jan. 6. He was arrested after police responded to a trespassing complaint in the 2300 block of Skokie Valley Road. He was released on bond and is scheduled to appear in Lake County Court Feb. 3 in Waukegan.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT

Someone broke the passenger side window of a vehicle in the parking lot of a dealership in the 200 block of Skokie Valle Road, drove it off the lot on Jan. 3.

BURGLARY

Two individuals driving in a vehicle pulled up next to a second vehicle pumping gas at a service station parking lot in the 2500 block of Skokie Valley Road. The individuals took a handbag containing a designer wallet, cash, credit cards, a debit card and a driver’s license Dec. 27

THEFT

A woman entered a retail business in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road, took $1,609 worth of health and beauty products and left without paying Jan 6.
