Naperville North girls’ football has yet to allow a goal this postseason and is now hosting 6-seeded Neuqua Valley in the semifinals. Wildcats come in after angering 3 seeds Oswego. This highlight will be presented by the BMO Harris Bank.
We start action less than two minutes later. Check out this beautiful setup from Neuqua. Brooke Miller runs the show, gets the give and go … and then finds Maya Stone for the record! What a start for Neuqua.
Less than a minute later, Tara Tesmond is called in to protect the lead from a corner kick … and she does.
But north is stubborn. A pretty through pass finds Taylor Korosec’s foot and she does the rest – pushing him into the far post to neutralize the fight.
Midway through the first half, Cameron Dinkla has a PK chance … and she doesn’t miss out. Huskies 2: 1.
The first half ends in bright sunshine. Another perfect leadership pass on Korosec clears them up in space and that is a dangerous thing for Neuqua. Second of the afternoon, north up 3-1.
26 minutes before the end of the game, the huskies are relentless. Nice little pass divides the defenders and guess who. Korosec. She ONLY gets it behind Tesmond for the hat trick and North seems to have a ticket for the section finals.
But 12 seconds later … Katelyn Nardulli is literally giving the huskies cause for concern. The quick hit brings the Wildcats back to 2.
Now it’s getting late and Neuqua needs another balance – this is a good setup, but … the ball rolls a foot too far and that’s enough. Naperville North girls’ football moves on after beating Central 4-2.
