90+7′ – Final whistle from the ref and the Unbeaten streak ends against Chicago.
90+1′ – Just 7 minutes stood between the U and what could be their second loss of the season.
88′ – Corner here for the Union it is sent to the back post and we will reset and do it again. This time it is from the near flag. Gazdag’s ball is too far and no Union player can get on the end of it.
85′ – Mueller’s night is done as Espinoza comes on to replace him.
83′ – Apparently its a yellow card brotherhood tonight as Gazdag is brandished one.
78′- Mueller goes down on the pitch after some shoving with Wagner, as a result Wagner is shown a yellow card.
77′ – Chicago nearly gets the second goal there as the cross goes off the underside of the crossbar.
72′ – Martinez holds Przybylko’s jersey, who goes down, and then the ref shows him the Yellow card. That is his second of the night and Martinez is done for the night and out of the game against Columbus. The Union are now down a goal and down a man.
67′ – Mueller comes from the right and dribbles towards the center and passes the ball to Navarro, who gets a shot off at the top of the box and it gets deflected and past a diving Blake. First goal the U gave up from outside the box in almost 2 years. Last time was back in 2020. Chicago on the board first 1-0.
66′ – Union’s watch is done for the night and Chris Donovan comes on for his second appearance for the senior squad.
65′ – Double sub here for Chicago Herbers and Reynolds are out, Jon Bornstein and Brian Gutierrez will be on the field going forward.
55′ – Chicago’s Herbers does the classic attempt a field goal kick in a football stadium, obviously just like Cody Parkey in 2019 it didn’t convert.
50′ – Play is stopped as a member of the fire is down on the pitch after he and Burke got tangled up. Martinez is also down and is holding his shoulder. Fire’s Teran picked up a yellow card for actions he made at midfield.
48′ – A diving header from Burke and it hits off the goalkeeper who tips it off the post and then dives on the ball before it fully goes past the line.
46′ – Both teams are back on the field and the second half is now underway.
Half – Curtin is making a double sub here Burke and Mbaizo are now on got Harriel and Carranza.
45+2′ – Mueller goes one v one with Blake and the goalkeeper gets big to stop the shot. Afterward the ref whistled for half.
45′ – There will be a minimum of 2 minutes here in stoppage time.
39′ – Another long ball by the fire here, and they get a nice shot off from outside the box it is stopped by a diving Blake.
37′ – Elliott helps to bail out Blake as he clears a low cross into the box. That cross ends up as a corner for Chicago. That corner amounted to nothing.
35′ – Captain Bedoya is shown a yellow after a hard slide tackle on Chicago’s Mueller.
29′ – Martínez is shown a yellow card.
25′ – Last 5 minutes have been all Chicago with poor defense from the Union. The U needs to start getting on the ball and get the attack going.
14′ – Another Union corner, played on the ground and it did not amount to anything.
9′ – The Union are lucky here after a bad idea from Elliott, he stretched to try and get the ball, instead, he slows the ball down inside the 6-yard box for Chicago. Luckily, they muffed the shot and it goes out for a goal kick.
8′ – First attacking threat from Chicago’s Przybylko and it gets stopped by the U’s backline.
7′ – Corner kick here for the U, which is from the near flag. The delivery is driven into the box, and Chicago clears it.
4′ – Free kick from the top right corner of the penalty area for the Union. Wagner lines up and delivers it right towards the goal but goes high and over the crossbar.
1′ – And we have ourselves a game. Union is in their electric blue kits and attacking left to right.
