ETHS announces 2022 Guillebeaux-Arceneaux Award winners

ETHS employees Shari Iverson (World Languages ​​Department), Melissa “Missy” Munsey-Johnson (Career and Technical Education Department), and Ingrid Strasburger (World Languages ​​Department) received the 2022-23 Guillebeaux-Arceneaux Spirit Award at Evanston Township High School District 202 .

Iverson was commended for her “can-do” attitude and for providing countless opportunities for students to thrive in the language lab. Munsey-Johnson was recognized for her dedication to the ETHS daycare and for her energy level that helps make it the “happiest place ” at ETHS. Described as a “fierce advocate for multilingual learners,” Strasburger was praised for her care and guidance for staff and students and her willingness to help others with no hesitation.

Award recipients were chosen by the Spirit Award Selection Committee from a larger group of nominations written by fellow employees. This award program is an ETHS tradition, where staff celebrate the work and dedicated spirit of support staff in the high school. The award recognizes the spirit of dedication to all ETHS students, loyalty and support for colleagues, and commitment to family and community, values ​​expressed and reflected by the lives of former ETHS employees, Ernestine Guillebeaux and Sharon Arceneaux.
