Danville man charged with possessing a stolen vehicle – Chicago Tribune

The following items were taken from Northbrook Police Department reports, news releases and records. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.


Dick G. Jones of Danville was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, driving while license suspended and operating an uninsured motor vehicle July 2. Police arrested Jones after learning from the dispatch center there was a report of a stolen vehicle in the 1500 block of Lake Cook Road. Police stopped Jones there and confirmed the vehicle was stolen in Melrose Park June 27. He is scheduled to appear in Cook County court July 15 in Skokie.

A resident at the 2600 block of Greenwood Avenue reported July 6 accidentally dropping the keys to the vehicle on the floor of the front seat when arriving home. The car was not there when the resident returned to the vehicle.

The owner of a property in the 500 block of Shermer Road reported July 1 a motorcycle was taken from the property. The owner last saw it in the backyard June 16.


Residents in the 1800 block of Somerset Lane reported returning home July 2 seeing the rear sliding glass door ajar and defeated. After inspecting the home, the residents discovered jewelry was taken.


A resident in the 2000 block of Plymouth Lane reported July 2 a Trump flag was missing from a pole on the side of the garage.

An employee of a retail business at the 100 block of Skokie Blvd. Reported four men and a woman entered the store July 1, removed security tags from several handbags and left without paying. The value of the merchandise is estimated to be between $10,000 and $15,000.
