Metea Valley makes its way to Naperville Central, where the Mustangs claim victory. This highlight is sponsored by BMO Harris Bank.
We’re at Naperville Central High School, where the Redhawks host the Mustangs of Metea Valley boys’ football.
Early action in the first half and Metea takes a free kick. The kick finds Henry Moreno’s head and it leads him into the corner of the net! What a game Moreno played when he started the Mustangs early, 1-0.
Central tries to react. Junior Sean O’Reilly makes a great move to get himself a look and his shot pierces the bar! An almost brilliant goal, but the Redhawks are still following one.
Still in the middle of the first half and Central is still trying to tie things up. Senior Benny Tietjen makes a nice move and finds Joey LoDuca, who just misses the chipshot as he sails across the net. Another close scoring chance for the Redhawks.
Central’s tenacity finally pays off when O’Reilly finds a corner kick that makes a great pass to Carter Adams, who smashes in the gate to keep things tied!
Second half, after almost 30 minutes with few scoring chances for both teams, Senior Colin Bastianoni from Metea makes a great performance for his team. He steals the pass and then fights his way towards the net to pull a foul in the penalty area. That gives him a penalty!
And Bastianoni would deliver for the Mustangs. This goal eliminates this game for Metea and they win 2-1.
