Bicycle and basketball stolen at gunpoint from youths in Evanston – Chicago Tribune

The following items were taken from the Evanston Police Department bulletin. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.

Armed Robbery

There was an armed robbery in the 1700 block of Emerson St. on July 24 in which juvenile victims reported being robbed at gunpoint and also having a bicycle and basketball stolen from them.

Aggravated Battery

There was an aggravated battery at Church St. and Oak Ave. on July 21 in which a victim was cut with a knife. No arrests were reported.

There was an aggravated battery in the 1300 block of Fowler Avenue in which a juvenile was shot in the neck. No arrests were reported.

A secured mountain bicycle was stolen from the 1600 block of Benson Avenue on July 28. Amount of loss exceeds $500.

A secured blue Schwinn bicycle was stolen from the 1600 block of Benson Ave. on July 19. Amount of loss exceeds $500.

A secured Trek bicycle was stolen from a residential yard in the 2200 block of Ridge Ave. on July 27. Amount of loss exceeds $500.

Criminal Damage to Property

Corneilous R. Hughes, 31, of the 400 block of Dodge Ave., was charged with criminal damage to property in the 400 block of Florence Ave. on Jul 24.

Shots Fired

There was a report of shots fired in the 1600 block of Payne St. on July 26 but responding officers did not find anything.

There was a report of shots fired in the 1800 block of Darrow Ave. on July 23 but responding officers did not find anything.

There was a report of 77 shots at Church St. and Pitner Ave. on July 24 but responding officers did not find anything.

There was a report of shots fired in the 700 block of Dobson St. on July 25 but responding officers did not find anything.

Domestic Battery

Gregory F. Crawford, 54, of the 800 block of Brummel St., was charged with domestic battery in the 800 block of Brummel St. on July 23.

Andrea M. DeBerry, 42, of the 1800 block of Lyons St., was charged with domestic battery at the Evanston police department in the 1400 block of Elmwood Ave. onJuly 21.

Aggravated Unlawful use of a Weapon

Tyree D. Green, 27, of the 700 block of Mulford St., was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon in the 800 block of Dodge Ave. on Jul 24.

Criminal Damage to Property

Raphael Harden, 50, of the 1700 block of West 103rd St. in Chicago, was charged with criminal damage to property in the 1800 block of Lemar Ave. onJuly 23.

Criminal Damage to a Vehicle

Corneilous Hughes, 31, of the 400 block of Dodge Ave., was charged with criminal damage to a vehicle at Kirk St. and Florence on July 24.

Aggravated Assault

There was an aggravated assault in the 1500 block of Dobson St. on July a resident saw suspects taking a catalytic converter from his vehicle. One of the suspects pointed a handgun at the resident. No injuries were reported.

Motor Vehicle Theft

A 2010 Honda Civic was stolen from Elmwood Ave. and Dempster St. on July 25.

Residential Burglary

A package was stolen from a residence at the 100 block of Callan Ave. on July 2. Amount of loss exceeds $500.
