EVANSTON – A 16-year-old was shot dead in Evanston Wednesday afternoon, resulting in a lockdown at nearby Walnut Hills High School.
The shooting was reported on Jonathan Avenue at around 1:30 p.m. The police are searching the area for suspected perpetrators. Cincinnati Police Department Lt. Col. Lisa Davis confirmed that the 16-year-old was killed.
The Walnut Hills lockdown was lifted shortly after the shooting, according to the school’s public information bureau.
The location of the shooting is less than a quarter of a mile from a Tuesday drive-by shoot at the intersection of Montgomery Road and Clarion Avenue in Evanston.
