Two Chicago police officers shot dead near a gas station in the western suburbs of Lyon – CBS Chicago
LYONS, Illinois (CBS) – Two Chicago Police officers were shot and wounded Wednesday night in a western suburb of Lyon.
The shooting occurred near a Citgo station on Ogden Avenue in Lyon.

CBS 2’s Charlie De Mar reported that officers were shot while trying to arrest at least one suspect.
Sources told CBS 2 investigator Brad Edwards that it all started with a car chase with the two officers, who were part of a tactical unit and may have been on loan to another law enforcement agency.

The officers were taken to MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn, where there was a large police presence late Wednesday.

From the scene it emerged that the officers were vigilant and responsive and may have had limb injuries.
This incident occurred just two days after a Chicago police officer was shot in the face during a fight with a suspect in a parking lot of a shopping mall on North and Sheffield Avenues in Lincoln Park.
