Morning forecast for Chicagoland on January 11th
FOX 32 meteorologist Mike Caplan has your Tuesday morning weather forecast for the Chicago area.
CHICAGO – The cold will ease a bit in the next few days. Did I mention “a little”?
The highs on Tuesday will eventually be just below freezing by the evening. It’s a very cold start, however, with single-digit numbers widely used. The wind is getting stronger and quite stormy, making it feel colder than 30 degree degrees on late Tuesday.
On Wednesday we will see temperatures rise a few degrees above freezing, but due to the rocky nature of the snow, it will hardly melt. A few sprinkles, sleet pellets, or snowflakes might fall at some point, but this activity would be of little concern.

On Thursday highs will occur just above freezing point with a chance of snow dusting – again nothing very noticeable.
A more meaningful system is on the weather map from Friday night to Saturday, but even this does not look threatening. Maybe an inch or two as it looks now.
