Robert Burlingham Obituary (1930 – 2022) – Naperville, IL

Robert T. “Bob” Burlingham, age 91, a resident of Glen Ellyn, IL, formerly of Lombard and Lisle, IL, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2022, at Covenant Living at Windsor Park in Carol Stream, IL. He was born September 15, 1930, in Downers Grove, IL.

Beloved husband of the late Betty Burlingham (nee Davies), who preceded him in death on December 7, 1996, loving father of the late Robin (Craig) Paarmann, devoted son of the late Charles and Marian (nee Taft) Burlingham, dear brother of the late Charles (the late Georgene) Burlingham, fond uncle of Sue (Bill) Golden, Carolyn (Ross) Windom and Nancy (Mike) Gaspari and friend of many.

Bob grew up in Downers Grove, was a 1948 graduate of Downers Grove High School and served in the US Navy from 1948-1954, stationed at Naval Station Great Lakes (NSGL).

Bob was employed as a tool and the maker with General Motors Electro-Motive Division in LaGrange, IL from 1952-1993. He was a member of the United Auto Workers.

Bob was a longtime member of Community Presbyterian Church of Lombard and Grove Masonic Lodge #824 AF & AM in Downers Grove. He had an artistic side, enjoyed drawing and meteorology.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2022, 9:00-11:00 AM at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville, IL.

Masonic Services will be held Saturday, 11:00 AM in the funeral home. A celebration of Bob’s life will follow the Masonic Services.

Interment: Clarendon Hills Cemetery, Darien, IL.
