North “Surges” past Wheaton North in the final minute.

Now the fun begins with the start of Southwest Prairie West play against West Aurora.
Senior running back Drew Surges scored on a 2-yard run with 49 seconds left and then threw a two-point conversion pass to tight end Jake Furtney to lift St. Charles North to a 22-21 win against defending Class 7A state champion Wheaton North .
Jacobs senior cornerback Ashton Niehaus had eight tackles, including one for loss on fourth-and-2 to stop Prairie Ridge on its final possession and preserve a 42-35 victory.
