Cook County is well on its way to seeing more carjackings this year than in two decades.

According to the Sun-Times, there were almost 44% more carjackings by September this year than last year.

Most of the carjackings happened on the West Side of Chicago.

The vehicles most frequently attacked were the Toyota Camry, the Jeep Grand Cherokee and the Nissan Altima.
