The following items were taken from the Evanston Police Department bulletin. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.
There was a robbery at Kedzie Street and Forest Avenue on Dec. 13 in which the victim was approached by two subjects who demanded money. They took the victim’s purse, didn’t locate any money and returned the purse. No injuries were reported.
There was an aggravated robbery in the 600 block of Michigan Avenue on Dec. 13. In which a woman was approached by two subjects who demanded money, then knocked her to the ground and forcibly took her purse.
There was an armed robbery at the 800 block of Chicago Avenue on Dec. 14 in which the victim was robbed at gunpoint while riding the CTA train. No injuries were reported.
There was a robbery at the 2300 block of Dempster Street on Dec. 13 in which a taxi driver was robbed by unknown subjects. No injuries were reported.
There was an attempted robbery at Callan Avenue and Mulford Street on Dec. 14 in which subject attempted to grab the victim’s purse. Nothing was taken and no injuries were reported.
There was a home invasion at the 1800 block of Grant Avenue on Dec. 13 in which a subject gained entry to residence through unsecured door and was then confronted by the homeowner who chased him out. The subject took the victim’s keys and his vehicle.
There was a residential burglary from an apartment building in the 1900 block of Ridge Avenue on Dec. 14 in which packages were stolen from a common area.
A bicycle was stolen from a garage at the 800 block of Hinman Avenue it was reported on Dec. 7 Amount of loss exceeds $500.
There was a burglary to a residence at the 2600 block of Princeton Avenue on Dec. 10 in which jewelry and electronics were taken
A secured bicycle was stolen from the 2100 block of Ridge Avenue on Dec. 8. Amount of loss exceeds $500.
Barbara S. Thomas, 31, of the 14400 block of Kimbark Avenue, Dolton, was charged with burglary in the 100 block of Asbury Avenue on Dec. 1.
A 2021 KIA with the keys inside was stolen from the 700 block of Central Street on Dec. 12.
A 2021 KIA with the FOB inside was stolen from the 300 block of Sherman Avenue it was reported on Dec. 12.
A 2020 Ford truck with the keys inside was stolen from the 3200 block of Park Place on Dec. 11 and later recovered in Evanston.
Erik Balleza, 28 and homeless, was charged with battery in the 1700 block of Orrington Avenue on Dec. 8th.
There was an arson at the 1900 block of Sherman Avenue on Dec. 10 in which a mattress and garbage can were set on fire. No injuries were reported.
Criminal Trespass and Assault
Nino Harris, 44 and homeless, was charged with criminal trespass and assault at the Evanston police department at the 1400 block of Elmwood Avenue on Dec. 11.
Karin A. McGrier, 61, of the 2000 block of Dodge Avenue, Evanston, was charged with retail theft in the 900 block of Dodge Avenue on Dec. 7.
Robert R. Vawter, 39, of the 7700 block of North Sheridan Road, Chicago, was charged with assault at the Evanston police department at the 1400 block of Elmwood Avenue on Dec. 11.
Jason L. Whitmore, 40, of the 6700 block of North Glenwood Avenue, Chicago, was charged with battery in the 300 block of Ridge Avenue on Dec. 11.
