North Shore Harmonizers to celebrate 70 years of harmony

Submitted by North Shore Harmonizers

The North Shore Harmonizers, a women’s a cappella chorus, invites the community to join them for their final performance under the direction of Alice Lane, who has led the group for more than 30 years. The program features hits that span the Harmonizers’ 70-year history: jazz, folk, rock, blues and Broadway blockbusters. There will also be an audience sing-along.

The concert will take place at 3 pm Sunday, Nov. 6, at Lake Street Church, 607 Lake St. The church is handicap-accessible. Masks are not required for this program; however, we will provide a designated seating area for those who choose to wear masks. For more information, including how to support the concert as a Booster, visit our website: www.northshoreharmonizers.org

Harmonizers President Helen Gagel, who has been singing with the group for 30 years, said, “I’m excited to be singing in front of a live audience again under the leadership of Alice Lane. Throughout the pandemic shutdown, Alice kept our spirits up and our voices strong in our weekly rehearsals on Zoom. Somehow, she managed to keep us together even while we were apart. We are all better singers because of Alice. Come to our concert on Nov. 6 to see and hear the results!”
