Alex Aitken Made 11 Saves Tying the Third Best Single-Game Save Record
Tulsa, Oklahoma – The HBU men’s soccer team fell on the road to Oral Roberts today at the Case Soccer Complex. The Huskies were able to get on the board first but it wasn’t enough to beat the Golden Eagles with a final score of 2-1.
HBU started off the game strong by scoring in the 10th minute. Oral Roberts answered back quickly by scoring in the 13th minute. The Huskies played hard through the remainder of the first half. Going into the second half they held off the Golden Eagles with some amazing saves by Alex Aitken up until the 71st minute when Oral Roberts score their second goal which would eventually be the game winner.
The only goal of the game by the Huskies was kicked to the high right corner of the target by Aldo Tarantini, and it was assisted by D’Alessandro Herrera and Bryant Farkarlun. This was Herrera’s third goal of the season making him the current scoring leader on the team. It was a big night for Alex Aitken who tallied up 11 saves, which tied him for 3rd in most saves in a single game for HBU.
The Huskies finished the night with a total of 13 shots, 8 of which were on goal. The Huskies were also down a man after the 55th minute by the way of a red card and there were a total of eight yellow cards in the game.
The Huskies will head to Evanston, Illinois to play Northwestern on Monday at 7 pm at Lanny and Sharon Martin Stadium.
