Mochinut To Bring Mochi Donuts, Korean Hot Dogs To Naperville

NAPERVILLE, IL — Mochinut plans to open a store inside the food court of HMart in mid-February, bringing its signature mochi donuts, Korean hot dogs, bubble tea and other goodies to Naperville.

The eatery’s highlights are its colorful mochi donuts, which blend the culinary concepts of mochi cakes and donuts to create a light and chewy texture.

Grace Ryu, one of the owners of the Naperville Mochinut location, told Patch “Unlike any other donut, the Mochi Donut is made from glutinous rice flour which gives it an airy, bouncy, and chewy texture that can only be derived from the rice flour .”

The Mochinuts come in more than two dozen inventive flavors, including yuzu, Nutella, taro, strawberry funnel cake, matcha and mango.

Diners can pair their sweet treats with Thai tea, coffee, brown sugar bubble tea and other refreshments or get it topped with soft serve ice cream.

Ryu said, “Along with Mochi Donuts, we also serve Korean rice flour hot dogs, which are similar to a corn dog but made with rice flour. The hot dog is first coated in rice flour batter and then covered with optional toppings such as diced Potatoes, breadcrumbs, and Cheetos and deep fried to order.A variety of sauces [is] available to enhance the [taste]. ”

Other available hot dog choices come coated with items such as crispy ramen noodles and crunchy cereal. Diners can also choose from mozzarella-filled options or varieties that are made up of half hot dog and half mozzarella.

Ryu said their Mochinut location will have a fun design that is simple, but chic and modern.

She added, “We are very excited to bring the most delicious and unique donuts and Korean rice flour hot dogs to Naperville and its neighboring cities.”
