Viking ship head on display

“Viking’s Voyage: A 19th Century Ship’s Journey from Norway to Illinois” is on display Feb. 4 to Dec. 22 at the Geneva History Museum in Geneva. Museum hours are 11 am to 4 pm Tuesday through Saturday. Tickets are $2-$5. At 113 Third St. 630-232-4951; genevahistorymuseum.org.

A restored nine-foot-tall dragon head and tail of a replica Viking ship that was displayed at the Chicago World’s Fair in 1893 is on display.

A new exhibit titled “Inspiring Curiosity” is on display through April 7 at the Naper Settlement’s Naper and Heritage Galleries in Naperville. Hours are 10 am-4 pm Tuesdays-Fridays. Tickets are $4-$6. At 523 S. Webster St. 630-420-6010; www.napersettlement.org.

The exhibit features drawings, photographs and more from members of the Naperville Art League based on the theme of curiosity.

’80s night

The Academy of the Arts will host its annual gala, “Love Will Lead You Back,” at 6 pm Feb. 10 at Yellow Box Theater in Naperville. Tickets are $100-$350. At 1635 Emerson Rd. 630-243-5100; illinoisartsacademy.org/events.

The doors open at 6 pm with a silent auction and open bar. A three-course meal is at 7 p.m. followed by an 8 p.m. concert featuring Grammy nominee Taylor Dayne. The theme is ’80s Prom.

V Day dance party

The Chicago-based singer draws from the era of artists such as Ottis Redding, The Temptations, Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye, The Chi-Lites, Stevie Wonder and Frank Sinatra.

Movie Monday

Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn (who won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance) star as parents confronting their own intolerance in this landmark movie about interracial marriage.
