Broadway theater returns to Chicago for the first time since the pandemic began with “Rent” farewell tour at the CIBC Theater – CBS Chicago
CHICAGO (CBS) – On Monday evening the lights were on in the CIBC Theater downtown, but no one was allowed in – yet.
On Tuesday, the theater at 18 W. Monroe St. – operated by Chicago’s Broadway and formerly known as the Majestic Theater and Shubert Theater – will be filled with audiences.

It will be the first Broadway show in Chicago in well over 525,600 minutes – that was more than 18 months ago.
