Boys Volleyball Naperville North vs. West Aurora 06.09.21

Naperville North Boys Volleyball sets off to open its post-season run and travels to West Aurora. The Huskies the 20 seeds, the Blackhawks the 13 seeds. This highlight is presented by BMO Harris Bank.

First set, North sends a free ball over and West Aurora knows what to do with it. The set goes to outsider Evan Allen – and he stifles the sideline for a 2-0 lead.

Huskies look unimpressed. Nate LaDeur hangs it up, Peter Vaikutis puts it up and Britten Beallis knocks it down.

From there, North goes on an extended run. How big is the run? Well, Nate Schlewitt is about to improve them by a 14-7 lead. A great pass makes it possible. Huskies out and run.

It’s getting worse and worse for the Blackhawks. Naperville North on the serve reception perfects Beallis again – and he lines you up to the end line. 17-8 north.

Now too late in the first and the huskies want to end the set soon. So you can imagine who you’re calling … Beallis. Throws down the kill … what a start.

After a 25-15 first set … it goes to the second set and, well … the north still dominates. Vaikutis with an ace … so good, he’s about to take off.

Of course I’m kidding. But the second set really shows the huskies’ defense. First up is Julian Roque with a big solo block to make it 7-3.

Then Tristan Lindquist waits and then jumps into action to win the fight on the net. 11-4 huskies.

And then, like a rocket from the back row, Manny Matel Sanchez crushes a kill for a 14-7 advantage.

So can the Blackhawks resist? Joehan Quach thinks of … he snaps the kill to make it a 19-12 contest.

Then believe it – Henry Hipp serves up aces in a row … and oh oh, West Aurora is only four behind.

Don’t worry, Schlewitt puts the game down and the huskies move in in straight sentences.
