Benet Academy Baseball runs into the semifinals of the IHSA section and runs on the road against the top seed St. Laurence. This highlight will be presented by the BMO Harris Bank.
Duck on the pond up in the first inning for Benet, Ryan Snell at the bowl – he sends a big helicopter into the middle, Michael Laudando reaches to the left, steps on the bag and shoots the first … end of the picture.
Lower half of the frame, Jason Krol swings away and sends a bouncer too short – it takes a terrible jump and tears into the left center. Kevin McCormick races around the bases and opens the scoring
Down the second now and it’s McCormick in the box – he’s tomahawkt a high fastball into left field. Laudando comes over to score after stealing a bag. Vikings now lead 4-0.
That same inning – and the rally goes on, with Jimmy Gurgone tearing up a ball-pull side. Another run comes screeching over home plate. The lead is now 7-0.
Benet tries to get on the board, but Marty Gust is caught watching a strike three call. Despite juiced bags, Redwings cannot score.
Benet Academy Baseball Falls
