Police said at least three people have been shot dead across the city of Chicago this weekend.
Here are the incidents that were reported as of Friday night:
- At around 6:21 p.m. on South State Street’s 7600 block, a man and a 36-year-old woman were in separate vehicles when an unknown vehicle approached, an occupant got out, and then fired gunshots, police said. The female victim was hit in the leg and taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in good condition. The male victim was transported to the hospital in an unknown condition.
- On the 4000 block of West Monroe at around 7:13 p.m., a 24-year-old man was near a vacant lot when he heard gunfire and felt pain, authorities said. The victim was hit in the chest and leg and is said to be in critical condition initially at Mount Sinai Hospital.
